Currency and exchange
The currency of Brazil is the Real (R$).
Reals and travelers checks can be changed at banks, travel agencies and authorized hotels.
The exchange rate is published daily in newspapers and specialized sites.
Tourists with a foreign drivers’ license can drive in Brazil if their stay is less than 180 days. The driver must have a drivers’ license from abroad and an identity card.
For longer stays, the driver must obtain a Brazilian license for foreigners.
The foreign tourist driver is imputable by Brazilian legislation.
Yellow fever is a disease transmitted by mosquito bite, and vaccination is recommended at least 10 days prior to traveling to certain places.
Brazil requires an international vaccine certificate against yellow fever for tourists from the following countries: Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Colombia, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, French Guyana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Peru, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Venezuela.
It is important to remember that almost the entire Brazilian coastline is considered to be free of infection risk. This area goes from Rio Grande do Sul toPiauí, except North of Espírito Santo and South of Bahía.

For collect calls just change 0 at the start of the call to 90.

To call telephone services (900, 0800, 0900, 0300, 800) there is no need to dial the operator number.

The climatein the city of Guarujá is tropical: hot and humid. Maximum temperature can reach 38,5ºC in summer (between December and March), whereas minimum temperature is 10º in winter (between June and September). Between September and December, the temperature is not so low or high, which makes spring to be a very pleasant time.
