Cooperatives in the Americas: Driving Economic Growth with Equity & Inclusion
The Executive Secretariat for Integral Development (SEDI) of the Organization of the American States (OAS); the National Business Cooperative Association, CLUSA International (NCBA CLUSA); and Co-operatives of the Americas—A Region of the International Co-operative Alliance (known as ICA Americas), are pleased to invite you to attend "Cooperatives in the Americas: Driving Economic Growth with Equity and Inclusion", a cooperative event focused on the robust cooperative movement within the Americas. This event will take place on March 20, 2014 in Washington D.C. at the OAS Hall of the Americas, located on 17th Street and Constitution Ave. NW.
This FREE one-day event will bring together cooperative leaders from our hemisphere to discuss key issues and opportunities facing the cooperative sectors and the movement as a whole. Through panel discussions and dialogues attendees are invited to participate on such topics as:
- Capacity for growth and social inclusion among cooperatives
- Cooperative edge for competing in the global economy
- Challenges and barriers currently facing the cooperative community
- Next steps for promoting a cooperative decade in the Americas.
Join us for this premier regional event being held for the first time at the Organization of American States!
Approximately 200 participants from the cooperative movement throughout the Americas; multilaterals, diplomatic community, private sector, NGOs, and Washington-based organizations will participate in sessions during the morning and afternoon, panel discussions and keynotes.
