#Coops4Dev presented the progress on the ICA-EU project in the framework of the Euro-American Forum in Costa Rica.

The activity carried out in the Auditorium of the Cooperative building in Costa Rica, which was chaired by the Vice President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Marvin Rodríguez Cordero, and the rector of the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED), Rodrigo Arias Camacho, who will support the cooperative sector now onwards.
The forum was organized by the Cooperative and Social Economy Research Program (PRICES), of the School of Administration Sciences (ECA) of the UNED and supported by the International Center for Research, Documentation and Information of the Social, Public Economy and Cooperativa (CIRIEC) Internacional and its sections in Spain, Brazil and Colombia.
In this activity, the main trends in action, promotion and valuation plans that from multilateral, public organizations, universities and unions are developed to strengthen the social and solidarity economy in Euro America were analyzed. Luisa Fernanda Gallo, Director of the Partnership Project of the International Cooperative Alliance and the Commission of the European Union: “Cooperatives in development: people-centered companies, in action” represented Cooperatives of the Americas and participated in the thematic panel discussion: Economy social, revitalization of local markets and action plans where she had the opportunity to present the progress of the ACI-EU project.
In this same scenario, the role that entities such as the Center for Cooperative Studies and Training (CENECOOP R.L.) and the National Institute for Cooperative Development (INFOCOOP) were highlighted, said entities extended the invitation to what will be the XXI Regional Conference of Cooperatives of the Americas. This activity being declared of national interest by Decree N. 41808-MTSS of the President of the Republic and the Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Costa Rica.
