  • \uf0b7 Beaches and adventur<\/strong>e: Very close to Ixtapa, the Papanoa, Barra de Potos\u00ed and Troncones beaches are ideal to surf. There are also located natural reserves for alligators and turtles. Other spots you should not miss are the towns of Copala y Marquelia at Costa Chica, with exuberant flora and magnificent landscapes that make you believe you are in an unexplored land.<\/li>\n
  • \uf0b7 Land sports:<\/strong> In Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo it is possible to enjoy the finest of golf and tennis, as well as cycling, skating, running or walking on a 13.8 km track with outstanding views and the possibility to watch birds and other animals.<\/li>\n

  • \uf0b7 Culture and history:<\/strong> One of the most representative cultural features in Guerrero is the Zihua architecture style in Zihuatanejo that identifies the coasters. This is characterised by the usage of native materials such as palm leaves and timber, red brick tiles, terracotta cobblestones, ochre and sand to build houses and hotels. Another suggestion is to visit the archeological zone of Soledad de Maciel (best known by natives as \u201cLaChole\u201d), also located in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. This prehispanic site is one the most important Mesoamerican treasures of the Costa Grande in Guerrero.
    \nIts pyramids were built in pebble stones and clay sun-dried bricks. Also do not forget to visit the Museo de Sitio Xihuac\u00e1n where ceramic pieces and stone sculptures are exhibited.<\/li>\n
  • \uf0b7 Craftwork:<\/strong> The craftwork markets of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo are a must-see.
    \nOne is located in Ixtapa (at the eastern area of the Hotel Zone) y other in Zihuatanejo (close to the church on Cinco de Mayo street). There you can find an enormous offer of hand-painted ceramic pieces and regional articles such as hammocks, rugs, woven and embroidered objects and an endless variety of souvenirs. Likewise, in the vast Zihuatanejo Central Market, it is possible to find handicrafts as well as utensils, fruits, vegetables, mariscos, species and all kinds of foods.<\/li>\n
  • \uf0b7 Shopping:<\/strong> Away from craftwork and local products, in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo you can purchase the finest beach clothing and all kinds of articles in the most exclusive and diverse malls. As well, the very famous silversmith\u2019s craft from the close-by Taxco can be found.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
