73rd Co-operatives of the Americas Board Ordinary Meeting. Only for Board members and special guests.
Within the framework of the V Summit of Cooperatives of the Americas, on Monday 22 October members of the Alliance who are already in Buenos Aires will be offered the possibility of participating in a guided visit to cooperatives. Participating to this activity requires a USD 20 contribution, including lunch and a snack. Register by writing to Nadia Robledo at internacionales@cooperar.coop. Twelfth edition of the Parliamentarians Meetings entitled "Parliamentary Agenda for Co-operatives in the Americas", a space for the sharing of points of view and experiences among the Parliamentarians more committed to co-operatives and leaders of the movement in the region.
Formal opening of the V Co-operative Summit of the Americas and Welcome Ceremony to the new members of the International Cooperative Alliance in the Americas.

XIV Gender Equity Meeting on the theme "Mainstreaming the gender perspective: an opportunity for co-operatives", organized by the Gender Equity Regional Committee of Co-operatives of the Americas (CREG).
Objective: Promote the mainstream of the gender perspective into the different co-operative sectors, and leverage the co-operative contribution to economic and gender equity.
XIV Regional Youth Meeting, organized by the Youth Regional Committee of Co-operatives of the Americas (CRJ).
The meeting will strive to become a forum for learning, thinking and debate, to provide conceptual tools and to deepen the discussion on how to incorporate the youth perspective in each of the activities and in each of the co-operative sectors.
VII Meeting of Financial Co-operatives, organized by the Regional Committee of Financial Co-operatives and Co-operative Banks of the International Co-operative Alliance in the Region of the Americas (COFIA).
Objective: Share the various national experiences regarding savings and credit co-operative models, public oversight and innovations in the field of co-operative insurances, as a foundation to undertake actions aimed to promote the solidarity economy in the financial sphere.
IV Regional Worker Co-operatives Meeting, organized by CICOPA Americas, international organization of industrial and service co-operatives.
Objective: To elucidate the role of worker cooperatives in the face of current challenges, and their relationship with the future of work.
II Regional Housing Co-operatives Meeting, as a follow-up of the first meeting held in 2016, in Montevideo, in the framework of the IV Summit.
Objective: To share experiences about the contribution of co-operatives to the solution of housing and habitat problems in the Americas, to analyze the relationship with the State, and to promote a regional organization for the housing co-operative sector.
Objective: Share the different national and international experiences regarding cooperative models of insurance and mutual funds, and innovations as a basis for developing promotion of the solidarity economy in the financial field.
Consumer Co-operatives Regional Meeting on the theme: "Current and Future Challenges for Consumer Co-operatives".
Objective: Analyse and reflect on the context and challenges that consumer cooperatives have to face and the tools at their disposal to offer solutions to the needs of their members.
Objective: Share knowledges on the contribution of co-operatives to the solution of energy challenges, especially in the field of power generation and distribution, to the sustainable management of drinking water, and to promote the establishment of an Utility Co-operatives Regional Network in the framework of Co-operatives of the Americas.
Eigth edition of the Meeting of Institutions for Co-operative Promotion, Development, Supervision and Credit, which will be co-organized in conjuction with the National Institute for Cooperatives and the Social Economy (INAES) of Argentina.
Launch of the Regional Platform for Cooperative Development in the framework of the project "Cooperatives in development: People-centered businesses in action" that is being implemented by the International Co-operative Alliance with the support of the European Union.
V Assembly of the Organization of Industrial and Artisanal Production, and Service Co-operatives for the Americas (CICOPA Americas).
Assembly of the Regional Committee of Financial Co-operatives and Co-operative Banks of the International Co-operative Alliance in the Region of the Americas (COFIA).

Forum on Co-operative Education: "Co-operatives and education system".
Objective:Share experiences and identify opportunities for cooperation within the region regarding the relationship between co-operatives and the school system and universities, and the co-operative education in the organizations of the co-operative sector itself.
Agree on strategic communication guidelines at national and regional level, based on the discussion about the production and ownership of information and communication technologies, the experiences of self-managed journalism, and common criteria of organizational communication.
Forum on Good Governance and Co-operative Social Responsibility
Objective: Raise awareness and deepen skills in Good Governance and Co-operative Social Responsibility, within the framework of the global challenges faced by cooperatives as a model of sustainable, economic, social and environmental development.
Workshop on construction of the solidarity model and territorial development
Objective: Exchange and discussion on the construction of the solidarity model from the perspective of territorial development, starting from the analysis of innovative experiences in different countries within the American continent.
In times of global challenges, it is essential to incorporate the agenda of global sustainability into the relationship between States and co-operatives. States can’t take responsibility for global challenges disregarding the initiative and autonomous organization of civil society provided by cooperatives. Meanwhile, co-operatives can’t face planetary scale challenges without convergent efforts with public authorities.
Objective: Discuss on the relationship between States and co-operatives in the framework of the new global challenges, and on public policies that contribute to the development of the co-operative movement.

Forum on "Current problems of Co-operative Law" that will have the nature of a preparatory activity for the next Continental Congress on Co-operative Law, which will take place in 2019 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the First Continental Congress of Co-operative Law, held in Mérida, Venezuela, in 1969. The Forum has two main objectives: to analyse some of the main problems and trends of the Continental Co-operative Law; and to prepare the organization of the next Continental Congress.

Objective: Strengthen the strategic alliance between Family Farming and Agricultural Co-operatives to ensure the food security and sovereignty, within the framework of the challenge to care for our planet.
